Rick “Doc” Walker is an NFL veteran who distinguished himself over nine years with his blocks and timely catches on the football field and his leadership in the locker room.
Doc was a starting tight end for the 1982 World Champion Washington Redskins under Coach Joe Gibbs. He developed the concept of the Redskins “Fun Bunch” and was an original member of the famed offensive linemen known as the “HOGS.”
As a member of Coach Dick Vermeil’s UCLA Bruins he became a Rose Bowl Champion, received Lineman of the Year honors, and was named an Associated Press (AP) All American.
Following his professional football career, Doc transitioned to the business and broadcasting world.
As a broadcaster, Doc has been a college football television analyst for ESPN, The Big East Network, and The ACC. He’s also been a color analyst for the NFL on CBS-Westwood One Radio. His current broadcasting activity includes sideline reporter for the Washington Redskins, hosting his own TV show “Doc Walker’s ProView on MASN, and co-hosting “Inside the Locker Room”, a daily radio show on ESPN 980 (Washington D.C.).
In the business world Doc specializes in corporate team building and sales training. Corporations of all types and sizes benefit from Doc’s experience, team spirit, winning attitude, and energy as he helps them build stronger, more successful teams. “Selling Power” magazine chose Doc as one of the region’s top motivational speakers.
In addition to broadcasting, motivating sales teams, and helping corporations build stronger teams Doc is President of ABC Technical Solutions Inc. in Washington D.C.
Doc Walker also believes strongly in giving to others and has served as event chairman several times for the benefit of charitable organizations such as Providence Health Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, and the Arthritis Foundation. He also currently hosts the Doc Walker ProView golf event to benefit the National Kidney Foundation.
